Question: What are the pros and cons of low fare air travel?
Answer: Pros: It's cheaper
Cons: Less leg room, worse food, worse seats, rude flight attendants that fling wet towels across passengers and then laugh when it hits someone in the head, old old old flight attendants, I'm talking granny here...
But all in all, it's worth saving the money, in my opinion.

Question: Any one aware of any best air fare deal to travel from Canada to India?
Is there any airline offering good deal to travel from Canada to India from Feb 2008 to March 2008?
Answer: You'll be better off flying to London and getting a fare from London to India. There are lots of cheap "bucket" fares from London, but not so many from Canada. Check the U.K. newspapers.
I would also suggest going to the Indian part of your city and asking around. People who frequently have to fly home to visit family in India will know how to get there inexpensively.

I love traveling. Can someone tell me where I can find the best air-fare deals?
Answer: I start with Orbitz and then head to Each airlines individual site. Once I get the price each is offering for the flight I want, I head to Priceline and start my offer by taking 1/3 off the top. You stand a pretty good chance at that.

For Chicago, Dayton, Toledo, consider http://www.megabus.com/us/stops/index_mi... and/or car rental. http://www.bookingbuddy.com is very good for car rental price comparison, and for airfares and hotels you might need for this trip, too.
So... for air you might arrive CHI (which checks both O'Hare and Midway), take Megabus to Toledo and rent a hotel room 1-2 days, rent a car to drive down to Dayton and back, fly onward from Toledo or bus back to Chicago for flight to Newark (NYC checks Newark, LaGuardia, and JFK), then from NYC fly to Texas, then Texas back to home.

I'm staying a hotel, but I was planning on paying that separately, like when I get there, unless you think it's wiser to book it together.
Answer: I use priceline.com if I want to go cheap (no booking fees) and don't care what flight I'm on - that way I can do the set-your-own-price - you offer a price like a bid to the airlines and they either accept it or reject it. The catch is you get whatever flights you get. But for me, it's fine 99% of the time. Expect to have a red-eye or a late evening flight if you do this option.

Answer: Peak season starts on the first week of December for most airlines until December 25. During these period, air fares are at their highest and believe me, it's difficult to get a seat. June to September is the next expensive season because it's the time where most students are out of school and therefore most families go on their holidays. Your best bet for low fares if from January to May and from October to November. Most of the airline companies offer seat sale during these period, check with your travel agent which one does at the time of you book your flight. Normally, if you depart on weekdays, you'll get a better deal. You have to pay extra if you depart on weekends.
The best time to go to the Philippines? I think it's January / February because the temperature is a little like spring / fall. Plus I am sure you want to scape the winter months, right?

I had several good deals on domestic flights from there because you can name your own price.
I use orbitz.com for International flights because they seem to have more choices than other websites.

Answer: In most cases midweek and not during school holidays.
After the business rush in the morning and before the rush in the evening.
Question: If you have a death in the family & have to travel by air - can you get a discounted fare? who to call???
Answer: Some airlines have stopped offering bereavement rates, and some of the special rates that are offered are not that great of a deal (see article below). Your best bet is to call the airline, find their bereavement rate, and then compare to standard rates offered by popular travel sites like http://www.expedia.com, http://www.travelocity.com, etc. You could also call a travel agent to see if they can find you a better deal.
