Question: Which one is better to buy air ticket from? - travel agency or directly from airline?
I am planning to take my 8 month old baby to overseas. I want to request a bassinet and special meals for him. Is it better to buy ticket directly from the airline so that I can request all those things personally or does travel agency do all that for me?
Answer: I think it's always better to go with an online travel site. I've been using yourtripstartshere.com. They're the lowest I've found online.
Question: The Best Day and Time to Book Air Travel Ticket?
Answer: The best day to book during the week is on Wednesdays, just around 12:30am. And the question is why? Well, statistically it happens that prices change at this time. If the company has decided to set a reduction of price for the first 100 bookings, this will be the moment when the offer will appear. Stay there, and keep refreshing the page you are interested in. Not always, but if it happens, this will be the time and day when it will.
Question: How long is a air travel ticket valid and can it be changed after 4 months?
Answer: It depends on the terms and conditions of your ticket and the fare paid. Speak to your travel agent or airline.

Question: I would like to know why air travel tickets cost more after a period of 30 or 35 days over seas?
I would like to travel over seas for more than 30 or 35 days and find that the cost of travel is higher even though you would think they would be the same cheaper.
Answer: The question is generally true, except there are some longer-stays even on the cheapest seats to some international destinations. From US to UK, for example, 3 month, and sometimes 12 month, tickets are just as cheap as everything else (sometimes--during sales). But if US-UK tickets are not what you need, then you can often get around the 30 day limit by booking from an airfare consolidator. Ebookers and Flights have offices around the world. Here's a link to more: http://www.discountairfares.com/discoun2...
Some routes are going to one-way sales, if there's lots of competition (Toronto to London, NYC-Dublin, or LON-Hong Kong, for example). Post your specific itinerary, and you might get even better answers.
Question: What to do?Where to seek help when the Travel Consultant made a mistake in issuing my air ticket?
The travel consultant issued my ticket based on my e-mail address which is my alias. He kept on replying to my e-mail that there is nothing he can do when the ticket is already issued. When I have proof with me that I went to their office to correct my name and he even issued me a cofirmation of my reservation. Is that really how this travel agency treat their customer that instead of solving the problem they will just deny it.
Answer: Are you saying that they issued a ticket for you and it's the wrong name on it (or it's mispelt)?
The main problem is that once a ticket is issued, it's extremely hard to make a name change, simply because most IATA (intl air transport agency) regulated agencies or travel on IATA linked airlines will refuse to make a name change because of fraud. I would suggest you get in touch with the agency asap and get it sorted, possibly even speak to a manager in person. Were you only dealing with them via email and not face to face? Did the agent go through the itinerary details with you and made sure your name was as per your ID? I'm afraid it might be your word against their agent's but you would probably need to speak to a manager about this. Good luck!
Question: Is booking air ticket online recommended as against going to a travel agency?
Has anyone booked Lufthansa air tickets online? Do they offer the same rates as travel agents? Are the rates quoted inclusive of whatever taxes that is applicable to those departing from the Philippines? I've never purchased a ticket online so I don't know what to expect and most is if we will encounter any problems at the Philippine airport. What sort of ticket will they issue? Thanks for any information you may provide.
Answer: Booking tickets online can be cheaper than going through a travel agency. But I would not recommend you book directly at the airlines websites as they rarely have the best deal.
The main disadvantage of booking online is that the airfare rules are not always easy to understand, and they are rarely in layman terms. When booking through a travel agency, the agent can always explain the rules in a way that you can understand. The more complicated the travel plans, the more confusing the rules can be.
Online booking sites will also rarely tell you what the entry requirements are for the destination you are travelling to, if it is overseas. Travel agencies have a legal obligation to advise you of passport and visa requirements. When you book online, you are responsible for any additional research. That's part of why agencies are sometimes more expensive - you are paying for the experience a travel agent has in these things.
You could always contact a travel agency and get a quote from them, and then compare it with the various online booking engines. Then go with the best fare, but make sure you understand the restrictions that are associated with the airfare.
If you go with a reputable online booking company, such as expedia or Travelocity, there should be no problems at the airport.
Depending on where you are travelling to, you will either get an electronic ticket or an actual 'old-school' paper ticket. Whether you book online or with an agency, make sure you know what type of ticket it is, and if it is paper, don't forget to take it with you!! You'd be surprised at how many people forget!
