Question: What are your best air travel tips?
The restrictions from bringing liquids on the plane leaves my carry-on bag rather sparse for a long upcoming flight- lotion and toothpast probably the most missed. Does anyone have any creative ideas for staying comfortable on a LONG international flight under the new restricions?
Answer: The new restrictions haven't changed my flying comfort. Other than chapstick, I've never needed any liquids, gels or rollon deodorant while in flight.
But I would suggest you slather yourself with your favorite lotion before you go through security.
And they now sell a teethcleaning sponges - Toothettes

Question: Does anyone have tips for air travel with a 10 month-old baby?
I'll be flying alone with my 10 month old daughter (she'll be on my lap) next week, and want some ideas for how to keep her (well, ME) from going crazy. She can't walk yet, but she hates sitting still for very long.
I already know the basics of air travel with baby (making sure she's sucking on something so her ears can pop, etc.)... I want to know the lesser known tricks!
Answer: We just did with with our son at the same age. We went to Hawaii and it was a 5 hour flight. The key is to talk to your doctor and find out how much Benedryl you should give your daughter. It is suppose to help them to get drowsy. That helped him relax. Another key was to have him suck on a sippy cup during take off and landing. A couple of times he tugged on his ear, but once he had something to suck on he was good. Bring lots of toys that are easy to hang on to. We lost a few things under the seats. I brought one toy that tied to the seat belt and it worked great. Good luck!
Question: I need some hair tips for air travel ( 28 hrs total) Any tips to keep my long hair from getting flat & icky.?
I have long hair and the last time I made this flight my hair got extremly flat and static it was horrible. I'll be meeting some people so I need to look my best. If you know of any tips to keep my hair from getting messed up on the flight and how to maintain volume please let me know.
Answer: Ok,,,it's funny how I know how to answer this question,, so please be easy...
The reason why your hair get's all flat and static is because of the air circulating in the aircraft... It's a pretty dry air, that's why everytime you fly, we roll around with drink's to keep you from getting dehydrated. Also,, notice how you're lips get chappy after a long flight..
You're prolly askin what this has to do with your hair.. Well, it's cause it pretty much sucks out all the moisture from it hence makin it flat and staticky. Best thing to do is buy yourself a leave on conditioner... You can get these at your neighborhood CVS, Walgreens, or Rite Aid. It's the best in putting back the moisture in your hair and will make you look extra hot and sexy for whoever you'll be meeting at the end of your trip...
Happy landings!
Question: Tips for air travel with my cat?
I'm flying from CA to TX in two weeks & am traveling for the first time with my 2 year old cat. I am carrying her in-cabin in her pet carrier. Any tips?
Answer: Don't feed or water her for about 2 hrs before you load her up. Be prepared, she will meow and moan for a better part of the flight. Go to Wal-Mart and get a piece of fleece from the fabric area that can be scrunched up and cushy for inside the crate, have her cuddly with it now, then when you get ready to go put it in the crate. If you wear perfume, spray a lil on it the night before so it has time to air out a lil so that she has her familiar blanket and a familiar light scent while traveling. Once you get to where you are going, try not to let her go outside for a few days so she knows she is home and doesn't try to go back to CA. And once home spend a lot of time with her. Between all that she should calm down and be just fine.
When I traveled from CA to CO with mine, I put the crate on my lap for the flight so she could see me.
I hope this helps. Good Luck!
Question: What are your best tips for AIR TRAVEL?
Between last minute gate changes, extra security, working with the system, and everything you have to remember, what is your best advice for smooth travelling?
Answer: I travel alot (in the US).
If you are going on a long trip..more than 2 days...check as much of your luggage as possible.
That way you dont have to lug anything through the airport when changing flights.
Always keep an extra pair of socks, underwear a Clean T shirt your toothbrush and hair brush or comb(esentials). Do not carry on any liquids. This will just hold up the line at the security check point and you will have to throw away anything over 5oz anyway. Dont carry a lighter. That also holds up the line and will be thrown away. Wear comfortable and easy to take off shoes. You will have to run them through the Xray machine at security.
If there is a delay due to anything other than weather...Request compensation if they do not offer it. If the flight is cancelled or delayed due to weather...dont expect anything. When buying your ticket, be sure to request the seat you want...window or isle. If you dont there is no telling where you will end up. If your tall or bigger than average request the emergency door seat...those seats always have more room.
Sometimes you can upgrade to first class for a really cheap price at the gate right before boarding the plane. check with the airline when you check in. Bring a book, an ipod or something to do.I knock my self out with a valium and sleep like a baby the whole flight.
Go to the bathroom before you get on a flight. Airplane bathrooms are not fun and its a pain getting in and out of your seat smoothly. Also...bring a light jacket or sweater. Sometimes its really chilly on the plane especially if you are near the window or someone who needs to have air blowing on them. bring something to rest your head on as well. you arent garaunteed a pillow and remember how many head were there before yours. Changing flights can become a nightmare if your original flight is late. Make sure when you purchase your ticket that the lay over time in between flights is at least an hour and a half.
Question: Anyone have tips for air travel to uzbekistan from nyc?
im planning a possible trip in late november to tashkent to visit a friend and since its a little out of the usual areas i have gone. im wondering if anyone knows of any consolidators, etc. that might specialize in flights to central asia and uzbekistan. im in nyc. thx.
Answer: Try flying into a main port of entry into Europe or Asia and then taking a smaller airline into Tashkent. For example, you could fly any major commercial airline from NYC-London Heathrow or NYC-Charles de Gaulle (Paris), and from there connect to a different airline that will fly you to Tashkent. Check out inter-European airlines such as Ryanair and www.skyscanner.net. Good luck!
Question: Do you have any tips for air travel with an infant while pregnant?
I'll be taking a 90 min flight when I'm 29-30 weeks pregnant, and will have to have my (then) 20 month-old toddler sitting on my lap for the flight, according to the conditions of his ticket.
Does anyone have any suggestions for making myself as comfortable as possible during the flight?
Answer: bring a pillow with you to set on your legs. then prop your toddy on your lap more comfortably. have a safe flight.
Question: Any Tips for air travel with a toddler?
I am going alone to visit my parents. My 20 month old has flown before, but my husband and in-laws were with. I have packed a number of special toys, a video IPOD and snacks. What I would love are specific things that have worked for you. He is super busy!! What would not be appreciated are suggestions not to fly (not an option) or use Benedryl (he reacts)
Answer: Bring along new items that he has never seem before. I have taken toy cars (Hot Wheels) , playdoh, & coloring books. Make a trip to the Dollar tree before you go and stock up on small items you think he would like. A good friend of mine is traveling to Australia next month from the eastern US with two toddlers and a newborn. Imagine that. Hopefully your trip is not nearly as long! Good luck.
Question: Air travel tips/suggestions (concerning packing)?

Answer: ur carry on should consist of ur purse and only anything you will need while in flight!
