Question: Will high-speed bullet trains replace car travel and air travel? China is the latest country to do this.?

Answer: Even though high speed trains may replace some short- distance air and long-distance car travel, the only way to make it work is to price it right.

It would only work if ticket costs are significantly cheaper than the equivalent air and car travel, and time taken for travel is about the same or slightly longer.

Of course, it will not replace air travel for overseas flights and will not replace car travel for trips down to your local supermarket. So it would complement the existing transport system.

Question: Can I carry an Iron box during air travel ?
Hai. I am travelling to China(Shanghai) on a business visit from India. This is my first flight trip. Can I carry an Iron box during my travel? Also if you can suggest some do's and don'ts during flight travel, it would be useful for me. Thanks buddy for the help rendered.

Answer: Depends on weight and dimensions.

If it's a small box, and you NEED it for medical reasons or something along those lines, then yes you can take it as carry-on. However, if you don't absolutely need it with you, it will have to be checked at the counter.

Also, check with your airline, but if there is no reason to carry that box with you, and it's not life-threatening, you will have to check it as checked luggage. Also, if the dimensions and weight are too great, the airline may charge you to carry it, or may not let you bring it along at all.

Question: How do I deal with the air pollution in China?
This summer I will travel to China, which has serious air pollution problems. The last time I went, I was overwhelmed with fumes of cigarette smoke, car exhaust, and dust. What's the best way to protect my respiratory tract, besides staying indoors?

I know of nose filters, but do those really work? Any suggestion is welcome.

Answer: A good mask is the best way to go here. I recommend an N95 mask, one that's used in the healthcare field when we enter into a patient with TB.
You can buy these at Wal-Mart, eBay and most auto parts supply stores (Advance, O'Reilly's).
Have a great time on your trip!! God bless

Question: Air travel time and cost from Atl GA to Beijinj china?

Answer: Best to book a cheap round trip flight from GA to Los Angeles. Then book a cheap roundtrip from LAX to China. Fastest flight LAX-PEK is Air China non stop, about 12 hours. It is the only non stop to Beijing. However, cheapest is usually one of the other 12 international carriers. I've made the trip for under $500 several times but the layovers and connecting flights take their toll.e.g. Korean Air stops in Seoul. Total travel time from LAX-Seoul-PEK is about 18 hours. JAL stops in Narita and total travel time is about 17 hours, etc. etc. Add another 3+ hours from GA plus the travel time to the airport, check in, security screening, etc. etc. and your looking at 24-34 hours of being awake. It is an *** kicker, hence my suggestion below of spending one night each way in a LAX hotel. It makes a huge difference.
I've made the trip about 40 times the past 6 years. The best source I have found for getting low price tickets is Jane Park at New Global Travel in Los Angeles. (I live in WA) Suggest you call her toll free at 888 387-9411. She also gets your visa. Also suggest you plan on spending one night in a hotel at LAX each direction. You can go to priceline.com and bid on a room. I've never paid more than $60 for a 3+ star. Priceline sucks for cheap airfares. Ditto for their competitors. No internet source has ever come close to Janes ticket prices.

Question: I have questions about air travel and medication?
hello!...i'm flying to china..and i have a tone of overthe counter medications that I am bringing along with me..they include things like antibacterial creme, diahrea medicine, advil, tylonel..etc..and other over the counter stuff...my question..is that i'm planning to put all this medication in my checked baggage...should i do this? would this be okay for my medication?....or should i put it on my check bag?..if i put it in the check bagged..would i have problems with security clearance?.....does anyone know if the temp. of where the checked bag is room temp?

Answer: You can carry the medication in your checked luggage OR your carry-ons; either way is fine. Just remember that any liquid/gel medication that you bring in your carryon must be less than 3 oz. and stored in a plastic bag (per TSA rules). If it's more than 3 oz. you'll HAVE to put it in your checked luggage.

Generally, the cargo section of airplanes is pressurized to maintain a temperature of 50-70° Farenheit so everything should store safely for your flight.

Have a safe trip.

Answer: Yes, you may need that.

Question: The domestic airfares to beijing from hong kong are expensive! does anyone have any ideas on travel to china?
the cost to beijing from hong kong by air is around $350 one way, there must be cheaper alternatives? anyone have any ideas, experiences, tips etc?

Answer: Beijing-shenzhen-beijing by air

Fuyong is ferry port at the shenzhen airport (free bus)

Fuyong >> << Kowloon or Hong kong island by ferry (1 hour) HKD 200 one way.

this way is cheaper.

Another way is take bus form Shenzhen airport to LO WU Border then take train to Kowloon

This is the cheapest.
