Question: Cheap European countries to travel to?
What are the cheaper European countries to travel to, for about 9-14 days? This includes accommodation, flights, food, and general expenses. My family and I might be travelling to Egypt, which has a low cost of living but since we live in Singapore, flight prices might be hefty. Is there anywhere in Europe that might be marginally cheaper on the whole than Egypt, or is that a straight-out no?

Answer: I am french and i lived already in a lot of different countries in europe, now i am in Norway.

I will start by the really expensives ones, England, Norway, Sweden, Danmark, France, Germany, Austria, Nederlands, Belgium, italy and Spain in this order or close.
For the cheapest country you must try to go more west, the cheapest are gona be Poland Bulgaria, Romania Hungaria.

In the middle you will have Tcheck Republic, croatia slovenia, slovakia.

If you like the sun and whant to have it cheap i think Bulgaria, Spain and Portugal are the good places, grece is also a good deal.

Question: Which European country is cheaper to travel Czech or Poland?
Which European country is cheaper to travel Czech Republic or Poland?

Are those two countries joining the EU and use euro currency anytime soon?

Answer: Both are members of the EU though they are a few years away from adopting the Euro. Both countries are also members of NATO. There is no significant difference in terms of cost to travel. Both Prague and Warsaw are getting pricier, the smaller towns and the countryside is a relative bargain.

Question: What is the cheapest way to travel between European countries and Russia?

Answer: If you have lot of time, take the train, you can see all the different countries. But if you want to get there fast, the plane is always better, try with Czech airlines they have the cheapest deals

Question: How to travel cheap around Europe via Train?
I'm planning to travel to Switzerland, Austria and Czech Rep this summer via train from UK. One of the cheapest options is to buy the Global Pass, which is only for European residents. However I'm not a European resident, which means that I need to find another cheap options to travel. Can anyone give any suggestions?

Answer: The global Interrail pass is for European residents. The global Eurail pass is for non-European residents.

So look at Eurail passes, but take into account that Czech Republic and the Eurostar are not part of the Eurail pass.

I personally would fly from the UK to Switzerland and from Prague to the UK. For Czech Republic I would by point-to-point tickets, for Switzerland and Austria I would compare point-to-point with national rail passes.

Answer: I was suppose to go to Ireland this September, but l am now going on October 4 as the flights to Ireland are way cheaper then,as you can save almost 700 dollars with Qantas leaving on that date, but if you have to leave on this date try Emirates, they have a reasonable deal at the moment.

Question: When is the least expensive time to travel to ireland?
my husband and i are planning a trip to ireland and we want to go when it isnt a peak travel time (i.e. june-august) i was doing some searches on some travel sites for october and november but i was curious if there was a particular month that is cheaper to travel during for ireland/european vacations.

any additional info you would like to share about your travels to ireland are appreciated as well .

Answer: You're better off coming over here in October if you're coming out of season.
Avoid Christmas/new year-airports are packed with Irish returning home for holidays.
Jan-April weather generally pretty bad but still some warmth here in October (first half) and longer daylight before we turn the clocks back to wintertime.
You should be able to book a good deal then and avoid the crowds.
See you when you're here!!

Question: What's the best way for a pensioner to find the cheapest flight tickets, the Net, newspapers or travel agents?
with limited resources, the cheapest travel deals are the most attractive, Thailand, the US, European riverboat tours, small groups, no hidden taxes or extra costs are an essential part of the search.

Answer: Given that it sounds like you want to talk about what you want to do, I would suggest that you look for a good travel agent. By good, I mean look for an independent agent and one that has older rather than younger staff (no disrepect to younger staff, it's just that they haven't been anywhere). Interview them a bit, ask where they have been themselves, what hotels they have stayed in and when you have found one, look after them as they are few and far between. We used to have an agent in our village, the ladies in the shop were aged, I think, about 60 plus but where they had not been was not worth going to - and it was all first hand knowledge. Remember, the internet will answer your question - BUT - are you asking the right question and are you getting the answer from the right person?

This playing one off against the other, use with caution. If all you want is a one off flight, then fair enough. If you expecting someone to give you the benefit of their knowledge and to really help guide you, playing on off against the other is counter productive. Do unto others.... as they say.
