Question: Best sites for European getaway deals and/or air fares?
I love francevaccations.net and go-today.com I used to be able to get special fare alerts for europe from american airline directly, now they only do domestic on the service I used.

Does anyone have a favorite bargain hunting site for euro-travel deals or airfare. Tell me about it , or give other bargain savy tips.

thanks for your idea's I'd forgotten lastminute, that is a good one.

Anyone else got a site for travel from US to Europe - especially spain or italy at this time

Answer: http://www.easyjet.com

Question: What is the best discount European hotel website?
I use hotwire, orbitz, hotels.com, priceline, etc. for US travel. Where can I get the best deals on hotels - nice hotels for a value price - for European travel? Especially England and France.

Answer: Never use a US site for bookings outside the US - generally the prices are way too high.

My next tip is -it's not the site, it's where the hotels put out the best deals that counts. So a good directory that pitches one hotels against the other can reveal some good deals and value for money.

Try European based web sites, expecially those that have last minute deals which have free inclusions. Here's some sample links with a site that also has a customer service desk in the US.

A lot of hotels, resorts and hotels subscribe to it:

Question: Is it possible to get a decent European Vacation for less than $900 pp from NYC?
I would like to travel late Oct. and pay less than 1,000 for 3 or 4 nights Any recommendations or web sites i can visit or travel deals blogs?
thanks

Answer: Go to www.go-today.com - they have great deals on short vacations to Europe, and NYC is a great jumping off spot to get these deals. Good luck and have a great time!

Question: How can I get a flatbed business class ticket/or upgrade to Asia from any European city at BIG discount ?
My destination is Hong Kong but I could go via any major Asian airport.

Because business class tickets are way overpriced compared to actual airline costs for those seats, (just look at the businees class only airlines) I don't have any bonus miles to use. For example some travel agencies have special businessclass/upgrade deals sometimes.

Answer: Find someone that works for the airlines and get a companion pass! Business class seats, especially Internationally, are expensive....period. Good luck!

Question: Are there any british travel agencies dealing with Schengen visas for travellers?
I am a chinese visiting uk now. i want to go to some other european countries but i need to get the schengen visa as soon as possible. any agency in london who can deal with my schengen visa as soon as possible pls inform me.

Answer: Start by looking at this website:

http://www.schengen.com/

Some of my friends have got a Schengen visa from London before. they just went to any of the embassies mentioned on the website i.e. French, German etc.

Make sure you have all the documentation required so you don't have to line up twice - there are usually alot of people lining up at the embassies!

Question: Has anyone travelled to Germany or another European country for med advice and /or treatment?
I have had several problems not being dealt with by GP surgeries over the last 2 years. They are serious enough that I would like to try to get treatment as I still have a family to bring up and I was wondering if it is possible now to visit GP's for example in Germany to receive advice, guidance and to be taken seriously and not be grudgingly given 6 minutes of time?Has anyone else travelled to get necessary help?

Answer: I haven't, but if you watch the movie 'sicko' it talks about traveling to different countries which does have better and more affordable health care. I really think you should consider it if you're serious. America has really bad health care. I would try Canada, France, Britian.

Question: How is European airline Ryanair able to offer such low fares? What is the deal with them?
I will be traveling to Europe and saw this low cost airline Ryanair. You can get one way flights for like 10 Euros! This can't even cover fuel. Has anyone traveled with them? Are there a bunch of hidden fees? What gives?

Answer: Actually it is very cheap. Not 10 euros, but maybe 35 one-way.
The matter is that they have a really bad service, they fly out and in of secondary airports, far from the cities, there are very long lines, you can't choose your seat in advance and you cannot take more than 20 kgs of baggage.

If you have enough time and patience, fly ryan air, if you don't have a lot of time and have money flight main airlines.

Question: When should I buy plane tickets to europe?
I'm travelling from Seattle to london (or the cheapest european city to fly to in september. I'm wondering if it would be better to buy my tickets now, well in advance, or maybe wait a little longer, I've noticed a bunch of summer discounts and deals they have going now and I was wondering if I wait until the beginning of august they might have special fall fares? Anyone have any suggestions? I still plan on buying them in advance, just wondering if waiting a little would have any benefit.

Answer: These days there is really no such thing as a cheap last minute airfare. It used to be that airlines had a quota of planes and just needed to fill as many of them as possible, so last minute fares to get as many seats as possible sold were commonplace

However nowadays with the advent of low cost airlines, plus the rising cost of fuel, airlines pre-plan a lot more and using trend info, plan flights to the nth degree, and the majority even overbook them to ensure flights are full and therefore as much revenue per plane as possible. As a result last minute flights are generally a LOT more than those booked in advance

So I would book now, as early as possible. Shop around the different airlines to get the best quote (as this can really save you a lot of money). This site is really good for comparing flights from all airlines and finding the cheapest options http://www.skyscanner.net/

Question: European Coach Tours?
I am traveling with two friends( we are all female) to Europe in May. We want to do a coach tour through Europe. I know that it is cheaper to buy coach tours through UK or European sites than from American sites. So far I found a 8 day/7 night trip that picks you up at the london airport then goes through Belgium, Holland, Germany,Switzerland and France. Then brings you back to the London airport. This has many cool inclusions ,tours, meals etc... It is a Cosmos tour. All for about $650 p/p. Is this a good deal? Do you have any tips on better tours, websites etc...? Has anyone ever been on a euro coach tour. Are they comfortable, roomy, fun, stop alot,safe.....? I would love any info. Thanks

Answer: Highlights of Europe: Professionally Escorted Motorcoach Tours
16 days Visiting England, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Austria, Vatican City, Italy, Switzerland and France
Featuring 2 night stays in London, Rome and Paris

I don't know if this is still going on but visit Insight Vacations they can help.

Question: What happened to the disney european cruises?
Watching the travel channel's special on disney cruises, they made a huge deal at the end on how they were going to introduce new itineraries in europe for 2009 and 2012...but disney's website makes no mention of it. the only ones I found when I searched the web were itineraries from Bareclona this past summer....I thought this was going to be permanent! Anyone with better info??

Answer: The Travel Channel frequently exaggerates things when it reports and the fact is Disney currently has only two ships that sail mainly the Bahamas and Caribbean. So they do not have the resources (ships) to expand and do a lot of cruises like the bigger lines like Carnival and Royal Caribbean that have around 20 or more ships. Disney has ordered two new ships which will be delivered in 2010 and 2011 so I guess it way too early for them to start posting information about new itineraries.
