Question: Question on how to deal with family and still travel for business? how do you balance the two?
Answer: My dad travels at least once a week, and not just a couple hours away... he travels to like London, Spain, Austrailia...you name it he's been there. My mom gets really mad at him saying that he isn't involved in his kids lives but you know what....he accually is. Here is what I would do. If you are exusted but want to do something with your kids/family read a book, go to the movies, rent a movie, ect. If you aren't busy, have the day off, ect. Do something with them that they would really enjoy, like go to the beach, take a drive and have a nice lunch, ect. Or if you don't feel like getting in the car then do something around the house that they would love to do with you. Just make sure that you treasure the time that you have when you are with them. If you are away due to travel remember to call every night and ask them how their day went....if makes all the difference! I hope this helps...and safe travels!
Question: What are some good family deals for Orlando, FL Theme Parks?
i'm going on a week long trip to Orlando for the 1st time in May (13th-19th) and we're trying to get a good deal on Orlando park tickets. for 3 of those days, we're looking at going to Disney World (probably Magic Kingdom), Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure... but not pay those high gate prices everytime... there's gotta be a package or something for families out there... and then i know IOA isn't for small children so we need the option to pick and choose.
my mother and step-dad probably will only attend the day we plan to go to Disney, and lounge at our resort (Westgate) while we seek thrills the other days...
...so anybody know any deals that won't put a dent in our pockets? much appreciated.
*by the way, the seven people traveling w/ me so far: me (age 19) and my twin and 16 year old cousin; my nephews (5 and 2) and niece (3); my mother and step-father.
Answer: There are two problems with trying to find discounts for your vacation. First you are pretty close to travel. So specials by Disney and things are already done for those dates. Also, Disney doesn't really offer discounts for tickets only, the main discount is your savings by buying your tickets in advance. The other problem is that you are looking for only one day at Disney and two at Universal. Most of the time the only way to find a discount is to get longer passes. Finding a discount for Disney for a one day ticket is going to be nearly impossible to find, I believe even with AAA you have to get a 3 day pass for Disney to save money, and on shorter passes it isn't always beneficial to buy the membership if you aren't already a member. Since you have a larger party you would probably still end up ahead. Your best savings for Universal will be on their website.
Just be very careful if you decide to get tickets online, through ebay or anything other than the actual supplier or a travel agent. With biometric finger scanners, expiring tickets, etc. there is a good chance that you may get tickets that are not legit. Sometimes sellers will sell tickets for a very low discount, only saving you a few dollars and then you find out that you cannot use them and have to buy tickets again. So just be very careful when you purchase them this way.
Since you are wanting to save money, I would look into the Universal 2 park unlimited admission ticket. They are only $86, which is just a little higher than one day at a Disney park, and that would give you 7 days straight in the Universal parks, as well as City Walk. It is a really great savings and would give you a lot more time at Universal than if you just bought three days worth of tickets. For this trip, I think I would skip Disney, even though it is a lot of fun and your niece and nephews would have a blast, you just aren't going to find many savings for it. If you want to find good deals at Disney, you really need to spend several days at Disney.
Since you may not want to spend every day at Universal, you could then go to places like Wonderworks, Ripleys, putt-putt, movies, arcades, etc. on the other days, which cost a lot less than a theme park.
This is just an idea, not sure if it works or if it interests you, but you really won't find many savings on shorter passes, especially for Disney. So, hopefully this may work out for you. I will include a link to Universal's ticket page so you can see the options.
Question: I'm traveling with my family of 5 to Barcelona in august, recommend any good hotel deals near the city center?
I know we are going to need to rooms because we are a family of 5 but if anyone can find a room that fits 5 people, that would be great. We need a hotel that has air conditioning and laundry.
Answer: Ok, head over to http://www.resideo.com/es/barcelona and click the "Check Availability" button. Choose your dates, select the adults/children, then submit the form.
The results are first sorted by distance from the city center -- so, check out the results, view pics, & book online.
Question: How do travel agents find such good deals?
Recently my family was trying to find a flight deal to Europe for a good price. online cheapest that we could find for June were $1,700+(most with 2 or 3 stops)
So we decided to call our agent that our relatives know. He found us a deal for $1,300! one stop!
then I went on that airline's site wich is delta, and tryed to search for te same flight only to find that THE SAME tickets that we're getting are being sold for $1,300 on delta's main site!
Is there something im missing like not searching good enough, although im pretty sure 1,500 is the cheapest you can find to Europe these days. and im flying to Moscow...which is even more east. and how do the agents find such good deals? so easily? dont they earn money from doing that too?
Answer: To get the really good deals with trans-Atlantic flights(and trust me I booked both on line and thro agents for years) is to do one of 4 things
1-book either early or late thro the internet(the cheap flights go 1st and don't re-appear till just before the flight--early varies on the carrier-can be 6 months or 8 months or even a year)
2-Use the travel agent the same way except wait till the last moment (thats when they try to offload the ones they cant sell--remember they bought the early ones you were trying to buy all these months ago)
3- Try to book a flight to somewhere close to where you are going-ie a flight to London Gatwick is far cheaper than a flight to London Heathrow
4-wait till a carrier has an on-line sale(can be really cheap but you have to catch them).Usually held between X'mas and New Year
Question: Is there a travel website that suggests vacations deals once you provide the dates you want to travel?
I am interested in a vacation with my family during school break week, and want to know the best deals out of Boston or Manchester for a week-long family vacation. Mainland USA or the Caribbean.
Answer: there's no better choice http://www.sunwings.co.uk
Question: Which travel site provides the best vacation/flight/hotel deals?
I am taking my family on a trip in Aug and we are planning on stopping in NYC for one night. Any reccomendations on affordable hotels I should check out, or a website that has good deals?
Answer: I have checked every site on the web (or at least most of the big ones anyway) and the two best I have found are:
http://www.hotwire.com/index.jsp?sid=S20...
http://travel.priceline.com/default.asp?...
With Priceline you have to bid but you can get some incredible prices. I got a 4 star in NYC last November for $125/night (The normal price was $450/night). Check them out and you'll see what I mean.
Question: If I am open to travel times, how do I get good deals on flights?
Basically I would love to be offered good deals from Detroit to Philadelphia, round trip, at any random time. Depending on my work schedule or how far in advance I know about the trip, I'd love to find really low prices or have them automatically emailed to me. (My husband and I live in Michigan but my family is near Philadelphia.) Usually I book through Northwest for holidays etc.
Answer: find a cute airline pilot to have an affair with
