Question: Can anyone tell me how to get great travel deals right on my desktop?
I am a frequent leisure traveler. What I want is to have great travel deals (accommodation, car rentals, ferries, casinos, cruises, airlines) and I do not want to waste my time hunting the Internet. Is there a way that I can have great travel deals without spending time?
Answer: There are several Web sites available today where you can get great deals. However, all the Web sites are biased towards the suppliers that pay them the most. Not to mention the enormous time that you waste drifting through Web pages.
Still, all is not lost!!! Recently, i discovered a truly amazing desktop tool - Tafri. You can download it on your desktop like you download MSN messenger. It automatically displays really great deals for air tickets, hotel rooms, car rental and what have you. I find this tool a great personal assistant. It's like someone tailoring the deals for you. You can set your own preferences. Based on your preferences, the deals are tailored for you.
You do not have to type messy URLs, visit Web sites, enter data here and there. It is all there right on your desktop.
A truly great innovation. I simply love it. You can download it from www.mytafri.com

Answer: why don't you try Yahoo travel. different times i've tried and seem to find good prices and decent places to stay. I suppose to search multiple sites for the best deals...
yahoo seems to be the cheapest solution so far, but I was hoping o find a site with great bargains since I don't wish to pay $1300 per person
thanks anyway
Question: What is a good travel site for finding awesome deals, especially if your travel schedule is flexible?
I am looking for a website that I can go to for deals on flights and hotels when I just want to get away. I know about priceline, hotwire, hotels.com, etc. I'm just wondering if there are any other sites with some really great deals or another way to get great travel deals. I don't even care where I go! I just want to go somewhere! I'm based in Columbus, OH.
Answer: The best site I have used lately is http://www.kayak.com . They saved me hundreds over Expedia or Orbitz. Give them a try.
Question: What cheap travel site lets you see the best deals from your city without date and destination restrictions?
I'm trying to find great travel deals from Denver and I don't care about dates or destination. I just want to see the least expensive. Every site I see makes me enter dates and destination which hinders finding the absolutely cheapest vacation. When I entered "anywhere" in one site, I got a $6000 trip to Aomori.
Answer: I would suggest trying Southwest.com. they are generally the cheapest and they don't work with any of the online travel agents like travelocity, or expedia. I would suggest a flight from denver to Las Vegas if you are trying to save money.. if you dont gamble its a pretty cheap place to stay and eat and theres a lot of free shows and stuff to see out on the strip.
Question: Where can I find great, unheard of travel deals?
Answer: actually this is counter-intuitive but call a travel agent. they are cutting better deals than ever, even better than all the online stuff. The travel agent companies are feeling the heat from everyone buying online instead of through them and they are making great deals. Friends agent was $400 cheaper than travelocity/expedia/yahoo/overstock etc... PLUS all the details are handled by the agent, much less hassle than online trip planning
Question: Looking for great last minute travel deals?

Answer: If you are in Canada, check the sites below. By the way, my experience has been to check several, the rates can vary from site to site.
Question: Can you point me to some good Travel deals, especially going from Canada to the US or Mexico?
Have any of you run across any great deals in the US or Mexico? I'm sure the economic downturn is affecting some of these places and there must be good deals to be had.
Answer: Go to travelzoo.com and they will e-mail you deals all the time when they find them.
Question: Can you really get a great deals on travel using websites such as priceline?
hotels dot com; travelocity, orbitz, cheapticket etc??
Answer: To answer your question, yes -- it's possible. Most of the 3rd party sites like hotels.com, expedia, orbitz, etc. receive all the same rates from hotels, so you'll typically find the same rate among all the different sites. Now -- some will discount those rates, but that means they lose money, so you don't see that too often.
Priceline, well, you can get a good deal -- but my problem is that you don't know what hotel you got until after you pay. I'm a planner, and I like to make sure I'm in just the right location for what I'm going to be doing in whatever city I'm staying in. I do research on each hotel in my list of choices (reviews at tripadvisor.com, resideo.com, etc.) and like to know exactly where I'm going to be staying.
Check out kayak.com, sidestep.com -- those sites check rates on all the major hotel booking sites and look for the lowest rate for you.
Question: Does Anyone know where to get travel deals?
Where can I get great deals on trips around the country? I have tried travelocity but I want more variety.
Answer: Orbitz, Priceline...
