Question: Can anyone reccomend a travel/health insurance for a working/holiday ski season in Canada?
I am also backpacking for 7 weeks and am not planning to come back to the UK.

Answer: I used http://www.worldwideinsure.com/ in my backpacking days and have remained a customer since. Their customer service are pretty good if you need to make a claim and are understanding. They are also helpful when you need to identify your requirements and in helping you decide which policy to go for - they do not have an aggresive sales pitch.

Question: My family and I are travelling to the UK for 2 weeks. Should we get travel health insurance?
My husband is a British citizen and would be covered over there but, what about his family?

Answer: Yes, you should always take out travel insurance...in any case why should the hard pressed British tax payer pay medical costs for your family just because your husband is British....and as another answerer said, if he isn't resident then he is not covered either...

Question: Name some reliable companies that will sell "travel" (health) insurance to Americans going abroad?

I am referring to medical insurance which will cover illnesses (heart attack, stroke, pneumonia, etc.) while travelling overseas. Many health insurance policies (from employers) do not cover doctors and hospitals outside the US.

Answer: TravelEx offers a better policy for value. I've compared in the past and have been using travelex for years.

Question: Where is the best place to find international travel health insurance to a popular destination?

Answer: I would check with a travel agent or at a local AAA's--they have travel insurance programs that cover everything. You can pick different levels of coverage, anywhere from hurricane insurance, coverage for lost luggage, pre-existing medical conditions, delayed or cancelled flight coverage(if booking a cruise it's best to book it through the cruiseline itself because they cover the flight interruption problems and will guarantee transportation to the next port of call)--the agents can give you brochures expaining the ypes of coverage and most coverages cover domestic and international travel! AAA's members get discounts also so you may want to consider joining if you aren't a member already! have a great trip!

Question: Some one tell me what mean for motor insurance , home insurance, travel insurance, health insurance and life?
some one tell me what mean for motor insurance , home insurance, travel insurance, health insurance and life

Answer: Motor Insurance, or automobile insurance, protects you if you are ever in a car accident. It can help pay for car repairs and any injuries you may have if you get hurt.

Homeowners Insurance protects you if your house is robbed, or is destroyed by fire or heavy storms, or is someone is hurt on your property (for example, if they tripped and fell on your damaged sidewalk, or if they were bitten by your dog)

Travel Insurance protects you if you bought airline tickets or a hotel room, and then are not able to go on the trip for an unexpected reason. You could get reimbursed for the money you spent on plane tickets, hotel reservations, and things like that.

Health Insurance helps you pay for your medical needs. It can help pay for regular doctor visits, emergency room visits, hospitalization, dentists, and many others, depending on the type of health insurance policy you have. Many people (in the U.S.) get health insurance through their place of employment.

Life Insurance protects your family in the event that you die. You pay a specific amount, or "premium", and in return the life insurance company promises to pay a specific amount of money to the person(s) you choose, after you die. It does not typically cover suicide.

Every type of insurance is very complicated and detailed. You should carefully read any insurance policy that you are thinking about buying. An Insurance Agent can help you find the right insurance policies for your needs.

Question: Why you need Home Insurance, life, motor, health and travel insurances?
Why you need Home Insurance, life, motor, health and travel insurances?

Answer: If you don't feel like you have a need for them, DON'T BUY THEM!! Don't let a salesperson "create a need" for you!!!

MOST people buy auto insurance because it's required by law. Most people buy HOME insurance because the lender requires it. Most people buy HEALTH insurance because uninsured medical costs can lead to bankruptcy and loss of all assets faster than anything else. And most people DON'T buy travel insurance. It's not a good deal.

Question: Travel / health insurance within UK?
Do I need to purchase health insurance to travel from Belfast to mainland UK. I am a British citizen, born and living in Northern Ireland.

Answer: no, you don't NEED to

you've got to ask what would be the point ... your medical treatment, obviously, would be covered by NHS ... any additional cost from you getting ill would be things like anyone travelling with you having to stay in a hotel while you were in hospital, additional cost of travel arrangements that had been disrupted by the illness (for instance if your flight couldn't be changed and you had to re-book), additional travel costs if you need some special travel arrangements to get home (e.g. if you'd broken your back or something)

what are the likelihood of any of these, how is your general health, and how much would the insurance cost?

my travel insurance only covers me if I'm travelling abroad, it doesn't cover me in the UK ... and last time I looked NI is still inside the UK, it's not "abroad"

personally (despite getting on in years and not being in A1 health) I've never even contemplated taking out travel insurance within the UK ... if it should ever happen I'll just have to face whatever additional costs there might be as I just don't think it's worth it

Question: How can I get basic health travel insurance to cover me at 74 for eight months in S.E.Asia?

Answer: It is going to be expensive, but you already know that I guess.

It sounds like an insurance firm is going to have to customise a policy for you. So you will need to go with a smaller firm, the big ones have drones on the phones who can't make any decisions.

The best way to contact one of these smaller boutique insurance firms is through an insurance broker. Different insurance brokers specialise in different things, property, livestock, business, leisure, event etc.

at random i have found a few companies from yell.com to get you started
