hi,
anyone have a good suggestion for travel insurance.
I'm going to Barbados - I need insurance, annual, and will probably do a few more trips this year, including skiing ... so need winter sports cover
any suggestions please, thanks
Answer:If you are a US resident, Peterson International, an underwriter for Lloyd's of London, has a great program. Your citizenship and current location do not matter, only your legal residency. It's an easy process from a company with a great reputation.

Question: Winter vacation in Canada?
My parents are unable to travel south this year because my Dad can't get travel insurance right now. Is there somewhere you would recommend my parents to visit. They like warmer temperatures and don't exercise at all, so skiing is out. I just don't want them stuck in the house all winter.
Answer: Vancouver sounds not too bad. Or Osoyos (I'm not sure if it's spelled like that) They don't get much snow. The temp is okay too, not freezing, just cool.

Question: What country will pay for your health care costs if you get sick when travelling?
My parents live in Canada. They were planning on going to Florida for the winter. Recently, my Dad, who has peripheral artery disease had his medication changed. They won't be travelling to the States now or for the next six months since he can't get insurance because of the change of medicine.
Is there a country that you can go to and have free health care if something happens. They couldn't pay for anything serious. I know it is probably unfair to burdon another country to pay for his possible health care problems, but I am worried that if they don't get away, my Dad will not do any walking at all, which he needs to do to stay healthy. They live out in the country and it's really not good to walk on the road in the winter. And a gym is 1/2 an hour a way, even if they would go. A treadmill was already tried and unsuccessful.
Answer: Nope. None. It is too much of a problem. Such a country would be attracting all the sick people from around the world who would all flock there.
And that's how travel insurance generally is too. It will cover you for any new illness or accidents you have while on vacations, but they never cover preexisting conditions.

Question: Study Abroad Spanish Program for College Credit?
I have 2 "gap" quarters coming up at school, Winter and Spring term, where I won't be taking any courses. I will start again in the Fall next year.
The gap is a real headache...but I want to make the most of it and travel.
When I drop below full time I will lose my health insurance and travel benefits though...
Any recommendations for a study abroad program that counts as college credit?

Question: Canadian would like to buy Texan car, drive to Cancun to live for winter, drive return to Canada. Possible?
I would like to buy an SUV in anywhere southern US, travel around a while with my daughter, then drive to Mexico where I live part time with her in Cancun.
Next spring I would like to drive the vehicle back to Canada and use it here.
It is possible for me to aquire insurance in Cancun. What restrictions might I be looking at red-tape-wise from all three countries?
Thank you for your answer.
I have a car down there now, it is about to die on me, I find them expensive down there, my American friends say to buy a used car in Texas, but I am Canadian.
When I buy it, it won`t have plates, how would I get around all that not being American, or is it not a problem at all... thanking you
Answer: Yes it can be done. But why? Do you really need a car in Cancun? I would suggest buying the insurance online from a US or Canadian Insurance Co. They can give you coverage that will stay in effect for Mexico also. The premium will be very high if you want vehicles coverage, It may be best to only buy liability coverage and risk the vehicle damage yourself, Traveling in Mexico can be hazardous. I would carry passport, license and not to much cash. Also driving time in Mexico is much longer than you expect.
